If you are an American Citizen is your free ones from each of the bureaus, you only get one from each bureau a year.

All credit reporting agencies(at least I think all) have to give you 1 free credit report a year by federal law. They also have to give you a free credit report if you think you are a victom of ID theft or you were denied credit because of a report by them. try Transunion.com, look near the bottom for a small link to follow.

This is the government mandated website where you can get 1 free credit report from the 3 agencies for free in one year:

The federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires that U.S. consumers be entitled to a free credit report each year. The government’s goal is to make sure that consumers stay informed, fight identity theft, and get fair treatment.

Freecreditreport.com just offers a carrot of free credit report while actually selling you subscription to their service. It’s free, with lots of strings attached
